Using Curriculum Based Measurement (CBM) for Progress Monitoring in Written Expression and Spelling

The Pennsylvania Department of Education recently presented a webinar entitled “Using Curriculum Based Measurement (CBM) for Progress Monitoring in Written Expression and Spelling.” The use of CBM is proposed by some state and federal education officials as a means of measuring student progress in a Response-To-Intervention (RIT) model for students who are struggling in academic areas, and also as a means to track Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) under the No Child Left Behind Act.
